One of my photography classes assigned the task of re-designing a CD's album art. I chose to work with Yaz's Upstairs at Eric's mostly for nostalgia's sake; when my siblings and I were young, running errands with Dad usually meant listening to "Bad Connection" on a loop.

The album art needed to be easily relatable and timeless, so I photographed the inside an everyday, dated apartment building. The imagery was kept directly correlated with the melancholic tone of the album's lyrics, but colorized to keep the contrasting bright and energetic beat of the music.
